Effective 11 July 2026 · Menutopia is operated by Bazan LLC.
The short version: we collect the email you sign up with, the profile and photos you choose to add, and the contributions you make to restaurant menus. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, we don’t run analytics or advertising trackers, and we never collect payment information.
Your account. Your email address, and a password that is handled by Firebase Authentication. Passwords are stored by Google in hashed form — Menutopia never sees or stores your password.
Your profile. A username, an optional biography, and an optional profile photo — all supplied by you, and all editable or removable at any time.
What you contribute. Menutopia is a community app, so most of what we hold is content you deliberately submit:
Your points and level. Contributions earn points. We keep a record of each award so totals can be verified and corrected.
Restaurant accounts. If you sign up as a restaurant, we hold your business name, address, phone number, opening hours, cuisine, and the menu and meal photos you publish. This information is meant to be public — that is the purpose of the app.
Terms acceptance. The date and version of the Terms of Service you accepted.
Menutopia is a public, community-driven app, so please be aware of what other users can see:
Your email address is never shown to other users. Reports you submit are private and seen only by Menutopia.
Menutopia runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, and Cloud Storage), which hosts and processes the data described above on our behalf. We use Google Maps and Google Places to display maps and to look up restaurant addresses; these services receive the map and address requests the app makes. Both are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
We do not use advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or third-party trackers. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
We keep your account and contributions while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, your email, and your photos. Content you contributed to a restaurant’s menu — such as a dish name or price — may remain, since other people’s menus depend on it, but it will no longer be linked to you.
Content removed for breaking our Terms may be retained for a reasonable period so we can enforce those Terms and handle appeals.
Menutopia is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Access to data is controlled by server-side security rules, and administrative access is restricted to authorised accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date at the top and notify users in the app.
